why the "cash for clunkers" program is not discriminatory?

I am making pmts on 4 cars and not one of them would qualify for the Govt. program. In my mind that means that the program discriminates against me and my family and excludes us from being able to take advantage of up to 4500.00 that the Govt. is basically "handing out" as a freebe. To me that is the very definition of discrimination. Am I crazy or am I right and if I'm right how in the heck are they getting away with it when congress is loaded with thieves, oops, I mean lawyers.

Hi, you must own the car for one year prior to the trade to qualify. As far as payments on four cars you must make a pretty penny to afford that so perhaps you aren't in need of assistance. Most people whom qualify for this program are like me so poor I drive an old junk because I can't afford any payments and to me this is a godsend. Not only does this program help the little guy like me, it also helps my friends who are car dealers, detailers, and mechanics to say nothing of the large car companys. This program has a hugh multiplier effect, now your local salesmen might have enough money to take the family out to dinner or even enough money to buy a Whites V3 . This is exaclty the type of program our government should employ rather than lowering capitol gains tax and other handouts to the rich, Thank god for Obama.

Hi, I see you made no logical comments about my reply and instead resorted to personal attacks, What has turned people like you so mean? You don't even know me I have worked like a dog all my life I have raised two kind and considerate children my family tree goes back to 1621 I'm related to president Hamilton and president Lincoln and I believe in the constitution unlike all politicians except for Ron Paul of Texas. As far as I'm concerned almost all are present day laws are insane, we now live in land of the due as your told and home of the scared. What ever happen to hard work and sweat like therick is doing to get by and make a home for his family or am I to believe your love for the total moron that lives in the White House today is the answer because people like you put him there, you are as much as a fool as your chosen one is, blind by talk and will follow him into a fire.

Excuse me but I never said Obama saved me! Please don't put words in my mouth. As for payments I have good credit and have payed off one mortage and now am on my second along with paying student and auto loans. I have realized the best way for me is to owe no one anything and hopefully soon I will make it. As for the topic cash for clunkers, not everyone will have a direct benefit but all of us benefit overall. If I or you do not qualify for some program this dosen't mean we won't benefit. My mother taught me a phrase witch you should learn- "If you have nothing positive to say say nothing at all". its only one of many programs which will fail and will just raise your tax dollars and our tax dollars more so enjoy your tax money

This will do nothing but move some cars off lots that have sat for 1 or more years because of the failed economy already.

The economy has failed and this is only another false front to lead blind followers that things are OK

Things could be hardly MORE wrong!!!!!

Hi General ray I agree the first statement was not an attack but when he added Obama is my savior remark I was very Insulted that is an attack and after reading these political messages on the finds forum I grew some hair and wrote an opposing view just as are forefathers did. As for the president as I stated my choice was and still is Ron Paul!
