Just came in from looking at the Wolf Moon. Sure is

a bright one. Even with a pair of 7x50 binoculars its hard on the eyes so bright. Crystal clear night here, but very cold and windy. 9 degrees right now and heavy winds. Got another 6 inches of snow last night also. Didn't see the bare ground very long. Lakes are frozen solid so ice racing tomorrow. Hope the wind die's down.

We are [abnormally] warm up here... well above freezing during the day and either slightly above or at freezing at night. No snow for a long time [although we a forecast for some in the next day or so]

Just been tiling the kitchen and working in the shop. Just trying to make it through the winter

A winter moon can be spectacular but i have seen a couple too many in extreme cold outdoors and often from a tent.

my first heart attack, they were hollering right outside my bedroom window. These were coyotes but similar sound. Spooked the heck out of me and I was not on their menu. I can only imagine what game must think. I wouldn't think it fun in a tent mid winter at all. Just being outside here at 11 degree's with heavy wind it was on the chilly side. I was dressed for it but one still knew it was not the night to gawk at the moon for any amount of time. But I did anyhow. Was glad to come back indoors and feed the wood stove.

I've only saw one wolf, and that was at Yellow Stone National Park. Beautiful animal. I don't know if there right or wrong about adding them but they sure are beautiful to see. I know they cull the weak in wildlife and they sure seem to adapt well when left alone. Smart animal.

When the wild turkeys started to regain a foot-hold in the north-east the coyote wasn't far behind!

I have heard them many times when living out west, but the parts of Texas where I lived had few if any because of poison baiting.

Once in a great while there would be a wolf sighting along the Gulf Coast of Texas when I was a youngster.

My Dad saw one on a ranch about eight miles from our house in the late fifties.

He told me it was a big "Grey Wolf" whatever that means.

The wolf was standing on a low hill watching as Dad passed in his outboard motor boat maybe fifty yards away.

The eastern coyotes are larger than the ones I saw out west perhaps from breeding with feral dogs.

A couple of years ago I saw two early just after dark one night and haven't seen one since.

I don't do much night driving and I don't hunt anymore so I guess I was lucky to see those.

A neighbor (maybe a half mile from me) told me of hearing a pack chasing a deer across the marsh from his house and how the deer screamed when they caught it!

This was about a 1/4 mile away on a very cold, still night when sound carries so well that it seemed to be a few yards away.
