My local hobby shop is expecting their 'spring order' of metal detetors, and the afternoon that they arrive i will rush into town and pick up my Garrett 250. I've been following this forum for a while now and looking at other forums, watching the many videos that are out there about metal detecting and zeroed in on the 250 within a couple of hours and nothing that I've read or heard has made me reconsider. So...........I will be picking up my new detector any day now, even though here in Wisconsin we still have about 12 inches of snow and probably 10 inches of frost below that, I'm anxious to get my hands on one. Just to confess by enourmous ignorance, I've never owned one before but I always wanted one. Since I got fired from my part time job a while back, I thought it must be time to make the leap. I mean, I've got all this time now....
I wish I could afford to buy the pin pointer too, but that will have to wait until I find my first cache of gold coins...Ok, ok, so that might not come right away. I'll settle for that diamond ring then . I can't wait for spring to get here as I have my first project all mapped out....my yard. I downloaded a plat map from 1889 and to my surprise, i found that there was a house on my lot as early as that. Now, where was that old well? How about that outhouse....?
Anyhow, keep up all the great advice and pointers that you guys regularly post. One last thought before I go - I'm really jealous of you sothern boys who can go out on New Years day. I'm also jealous of you New Englanders who find all the Colonial relics, and I'm jealous of the guys from the South East who detect all those Civil War Relics and I;m jealous...................
