Just got the January 2015 issue of Western/Eastern Treasures and guess what...........

I never heard of Western/Eastern Treasures Magazine. It's probably a waste of money to advertize with them. Most everything is on the net nowadays.
A lot of magazine and newspaper companies are going out of business because of the lack of readers and sponsors.
Just more bah, bah, bah pot stirring.

Wow.............I think everyone who is serious about detecting has read Western/Eastern Treasures. You should get a copy...........it is a really nice read. Don't limit yourself..expand your horizons. I read them at the beach..on planes... long car trips....etc. Anyone else have any comments on Western/Eastern???
As much as I read and enjoy a good book or paper copy I understand why firms dislike magazine ads. I work in a field that is transitioning with some vendors and suppliers. My wife and I write for industry publications on a monthly basis. Some newer firms have left print behind with a smile. The internet allows them to be faster on their feet and able to keep subscribers to their operations far better informed. The workers in my field already get far more information about things they need on the job from their smart phones, tablets and computers than they do from print. Digital editions of magazines on a Kindle in the newer versions are in full color and weather proof. Even simple photography work is changing. I took many stills for clients and submitted them in the past. Now those same clients want videos, many in POV mode. Where a picture is worth a thousand words a few minutes of video is worth millions of them. Times are changing and quickly.

the wester Estern treasure mag is almost solid advertising , I would think they should just give it away or lower the price , I can't afford it the ones I got are because i bought a metal detector and got a free Mag good reading tho
Most companies try to allocate a certain percentage of Sales to advertising when they do their yearly budget..some are only 2.5% of total sales dollars, some are less than that...best time to buy any TV commercial coverage is right now, first quarter of the year, TV time is cheap after the Holidays and before Spring season..A good strategy would be imbedding a Tesoro commercial into some programs where their demographics are....magazine advertisements/trade shows have to be well planned months in advance...the internet/TV is immediate, Forums like this are essential for any Companies growth and success...great websites, Key...only so much money to go around, a guy has to try to allocate resources for immediate bang/buck now a days...best marketing is when you can get your customers to become a rabid and loyal outside sales force...that takes work and commitment in the right places...

What story did he make up? He simply said there were no Tesoro ads in the new W&E Treasures magazine. And there isn't...so I guess nothing was made up.
Just maybe there using there money wisy. If and when th sy come out with a new machine that would be the time to do and ad blitz. Tesoro is what Tesoro is dated but people love them.
So no amount of ad money will ad new customers till there is a new machine. Use them or don't use them but minor stuff like no add is a waste of time.
