Keeping clay mud off wellies and spades

Only hunt when it is dry:rofl: Just kidding! You might try spraying them with silicone spay and see if it helps.....

If weather is nice, carry a pump up sprayer full of water.
Wash off the mud.

Here's a solution. Don't carry a spade or shovel. You shouldn't be using something that big in the first place unless you want to further destroy access in this hobby.

I use a small spade which the farner is fine with.I don't see your point. I have a good relationship with everyone since I put all my finds on youtube so people can see the history of the village. I bet you don't do that. I increase access in this hobby and I do not like your inference

Not a very good solution. For farm fields (and even some construction sites) a spade or shovel, along with wellies or good boots are a necessity. Of course we are talking about private property with the landowner's permission. A spade or a shovel in a public park or school site would be a no-no, but I doubt you'd be having a trouble with gummy sticky clay mud at either one of those types of sites.I have found anything I've tried to keep wet clay/mud off boots and tools, such as oil or lubricants just wears off quickly. Pretty much I have learned to deal with getting muddy in these situations and keeping a change of clothes in the car and something of a cleanup kit.
