Great find. I had this happen to me. I dug a clad dime and I rechecked the hole and got a half dollar reading. 6 inches under it was a silver walking liberty half dollar.

This should have been posted to the Explorer Forum but I thought some of my friends in the Safari Forum would enjoy it too. :)

John, If mine had been silver, that would have really made my day. I've found silver with the Safari but now the Explorer yet.

All you have to do is give yourself some more time with it and the good coins will come. Halves are very good finds no matter what metal they are made of, very hard to find. It is very important to recheck your hole just in case that something else is in it and I think you demonstrated that.
