Key date find for the old E

Got a nice surprise today. Been working a "worked out" park and getting a nice amount of wheats and silver. Hit a trash area so put on the Sunray 8" and went to work. Got a nice hit and out pops a silver Washington quarter. Happens to be a 1932 D so it made my week. Looks to be about an XF 45 with Photograde. Sure is nice someone got all the clad out of the way.

Great save!! Congrats on a nice coin!!

Nice find! That is a great date.

That's the first Key Washington I've seen on this E-Trac forum, that I can remember! Congratulations and thanks for the picture.

The funny thing was it didn't register what it was until later. I seen the date when I dug it and thought "gee I dug another silver quarter about 40 feet from here last week." It wasn't until I got home and rinsed it off that the D showed then it started to click, first year and better check the book. Real nice surprise when I checked the value. I don't cover a lot of ground in a day but I think it really pays to know the machine and go slow.

Nice snag in a worked out park. Sometimes a different coil or angle makes all the difference in the world!
