Killing some time...

Well, no construction on my house today. Prep work for concrete is nearly done, should be pouring the grade beam sometime next week. The roads were so bad today, couldn't even get to town!

The past 2.5 months of no detecting has been rough, only 3 more months to go. I have been looking at my finds to pass the time, and I came across this token, and I finally ID'd it. It looks like 'Henderson's fruit store, Harvey North Dakota". I checked a huge token database online, and the token is known, but no pics exist. The owner of the database needs a pic, and I want to submit pics. I'd like to clean it a bit better, but not sure how to clean aluminum tokens. Any advice?

Weather pic ture looks about right.
Not sure could try heating up peroxide and put it in a while.

Is that a henny penny.....?

No, it is a token. I can make out the "Hendersons fruit store, Harvey N.D.". I found it 20 feet from where the railway crosses the international boundary. I haven't been able to find much out about the token, I'd love to know more about it...

Whats the name of the token database? i have a couple i cant find anywhere

Aluminum Jelly. Available at hardware stores and china-mart. Just (first) read the directions carefully.

When I've tried to clean junk metal tokens they seem to get an abnormally washed out look. On top of that, the corrosion will often eat away the writing when you get it off.

Aluminum jelly sounds like a good suggestion, but I'm not sure that I care enough about any of my junk metal tokens to justify the purchase or time.
