I emailed them about this and here is what they said:
''Kitco was a scripted based banner which mean it pull information from
their own server across the internet each time a visitor bring up our
forums on their web browser.
When those server are not functioning right it put our own forum on
pause trying to complete the script because their server is not sending
the information that their own script banners needed (ie latest gold
prices or gas prices etc) so visitor would just see a blank page since
it won't complete the process and let our forum complete rendering on
visitor browser
Kitco and other script banner had been causing issue for our forums so
we decided to remove them for now until they fix their server issue.
It may come back or we may choose a different method to display those
information on our forums that would not hinder the forums loading
rendering if their servers goes down.''

Hi,
"Findmall Programmer" is barking up the wrong tree. The Kitco graphic is just that - a graphic linked to a website. If it is not available, you get a little box with an "x" in it. It does not prevent a page from loading.
I've hosted the Kitco link since 1998 at my own websites and never had a problem.

Why not go to Kitco.com and download the kcast control center to your computer. You will have the latest info on your task bar all the time.
