Hit a school just down the street from my house. Found the silver ring. Last night traveled to some historic area and found the 1934 buffalo nickel next to a very thick tree about 3 inches deep. Then in the next half hour picked up the 1816 large cent and the 1787 fugio cent. About an hour later got the 1943 silver quarter. Got about 4 wheats 1920+. My best coin day ever.

Quite the variety. I'd like to see some close-ups of those coppers.

Looks like a site that will have to be Pounded over and over again. Let's hope for Big Silver on your next outing. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

I went back to the area today and found a few more wheats and what looks like a 1923 buffalo nickel. Sorry about the pics my cam sucks. I want to go back with a 5" coil. I'm hoping for some silver myself.

To be holding all those old coins.....it must have been built on some old grounds.Imagine what they ripped up when they built it!!.....thats what I hate about progress and their destroying old property...and they bitch at us for digging small holes and recovering history....yet they dig large holes and fill them with concrete and tar and dis regard all the old coins and bottles and such....
I have been working at a newer high school which I can see it was old grounds by the very old cemetary in the middle of 2 buildings...I am talking early 1700's and on..and down the street is a older one..1600's.....
I am so happy that at least you recovered some old coins and they didn't get them all by the bulldozer....Congrats!!

I was a little misleading matt. That school was my first stop of the day where I found the silver ring. Later in the day I went to an old church where I found the old stuff.

Here is another pic of the fugio.

Dsw08 ya certainly hit paydirt eh !
Terrific result, those old trees are great places for lost coins eh!

I found my best old coin under an ancient huge old red gum tree here in Australia.
A 1875 Silver British florin.

Happy new year !:twodetecting:
