Lesche Groundshark

New member
Anyone know where I can find one of these, I think 36 inch model. I checked Predator website and didnt see it there.
Thanks,
John

I have a Kellyco Razor Edge Gator Digger and like it allot. They have improved the stile so it does not bend or crack.

Thanks much Ray.
Which, shovel type digger do you guys use, of the Lesche/Predator brand? Or do you use several?
Obviously, not for parks, school yards, or where the public can get a wrong impression. Some of the old in town homes I would use the GroundShark and when I hit the fields (and Im sure the GroundShark is good there) but was wondering if someone carried a bit larger digger for these areas? Maybe one of the relic shovels.
HH,
John

I had a groundshark and it was ok but i much prefer the wider relic shovels after using both.I have two of the longer ball handled ones and they are great. They will cut a plug as clean as any other type digger if you keep them sharp.Obviously not for public sites because of what other folks will think. They see a shovel of any kind and start thinking craters dug for lost treasure chests .

Thanks Ray, yeah I agree on the public sites thing. Which of the relic shovels do you use, and length. Im looking on the Predator web site at their newest offering, what do you think about the new one as well??
I think that may be the one I order up,
Raining here today, so Im stuck inside and my wife has me some honey dos lined up,lol.
HH,
John

The problem I had with the ground shark was wet or sticky soil sticking in the small rounded blade. Not an issue with the Sampson .I also like the ball handle better than the T handle as it is more compact and I can slide the ball end through a belt for extended carry.

If you're looking for a good quality digging tool, try a Fiskars Garden Knife. They dig just as good as a Lesche, they have a lot more comfortable handle and, they cost a lot less than a Lesche digger or any of the other digging tools that the metal detecting dealers are trying to sell.

I've got a Lesche digging knife and I have a Fiskars digging knife and I think the Fiskars digging knife works just as well as the Lesche digging knife.

You can buy them on line. Just plug Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife into a search engine and you'll be able to find a list of people selling them.

I use the Sampson T handle in parks and schools with no problems. The park I hunt isn't the safest and always looking over my shoulder for trouble. The shovel will serve as a great deterrent for anyone one that wants to hassle me. When I see some one eye balling me I kinda display it so they will think twice about beating up an old man. I also carry pepper spray. There's plenty of crazy people out there. Be safe! BTW the shovel works great.

and then broke in half.Second one lasted a little longer. They are fine for soft easy digging and for what they cost but no where near the quality of the Lesche and predator tools.I did manage to break a predator at the weld area after 2 years of extreme use.It was repaired better than new at no cost and will last a number of years more I believe.

The Sampson Tball is awsome. It can be carried in a hammer belt loop. Keeps the arm free and the neck from hurting.

Check out the lesche Mauler too.

I've had my Fiskars Garden Knife for two years. It's done a lot of digging in tough hard soil. Hasn't broken yet. Several of my friends have them. No ones had a problem.

But, even if you do break one, and I've never seen anyone break one, they only cost $10.00. The price of a Lesche digging knife is $40.00. You can buy 4 Fiskars for the price of one Lesche.

If your Fiskars digging knife should break, and you replace it with another Fiskars, you'll still have only half as much money invested as you would if you bought one Lesche knife.

I have had my lesche hand digger, never had to sharpen it, but just replaced the sheath... Still a plug cutting jewel... A+++ in my book.... I also use the Samson T-handle.. also cuts a clean plug...
