are you guys finding nickels with any amount of frequency????? What are they reading on your safari..... I've dug litterly over a hundred targets reading 15-16 on the id and NOT ONE has been a nickel....Any body seeing the same thing..

15-16 is modern pull tabs on my Safari. 13-14 is nickels. I dig lots of nickels.

I don't typically dig nickels but last weekend I decided to start by digging them only if they were at least 4" down.
Every one turned out to be a nickel.

I think I only dug one pulltab the whole day.

By not wasting time, I recoverd 7 silvers that day

In 2 weeks of owning the safari, managed just 2 nickles at factory pre-set for coin and they were both reading 14 at about 5-6 inches. That also seems to be the pull tab id for me & ratio may be 4-1 favoring tabs. The one numeric id I am confident about for a good recovery is 38 which is always for quarters and on occasion- clad dimes. Though I do confirm audio with that sweet sound. Got first silver coin with safari on Saturday -1953 d at 6 inches in factory coin setting.

I dig lots of nickels, but mostly old nickels that register 4 inches or more ie war, buffalo and one liberty head. But I only dig those signals if the area isn't completely littered with pull tabs. Also remember to Noise Cancel frequently as this can throw the TID off as well.
The deep nickels I have dug have registered 13-15 and war nickels can be much wider TID range but I hunt in High Trash Density so the TID jumps more.
