LIDAR maps on-line?

On a History Channel program called if i remember correctly 'America Unearthed' featured the use of LIDAR mapping.
I was impressed and searched the net for any on-line LIDAR maps. Couldn't find any but i was further impressed with some LIDAR examples shown on some web pages. Trees and other vegetation become invisible, old long gone trails, roads, foundations, even old homesites with no celler or foundatins also become very visible.

Has anyone used or know how to access LIDAR maps on-line if they even exist?

From what I have found there is very limited coverage.

Thats basically what i found too. But there are some LIDAR data bases availble on some web sites but unfortunately they are extremely limited as you say.
Found lots of companies selling that technology. Can't imagine the cost though! Probably would have to take out a 2nd mortgage to map an area of interest.
Guess we'll have to wait til Google LIDARs the world.
