Ok I messed up. I plugged my alkaline pack on the charger overnight. Nothing got hot (thankfully) but now my charger just flashes a green light but won't charge my rechargeable battery. How do I check the charger out? Grumpy
 
Ouch...besides testing it on another battery, maybe unplug it from the wall for a while?
 
Use a good digital voltmeter to see what voltage is being put out by the the charger.
