1. Before purchasing the V3i I read and downloaded and printed all of White's website V3 documentation for future reference. In the Spectra V3 Field Guide on page 5 I especially liked the Live Control Expert Menu user selection feature in "Sensitivity Probe Zoomed". Under the "LIVE CONTROLS-SENSITIVITY" and "PROBE" two on screen graphic displays are shown the first in the non-zoomed and the second with the zoomed selection. Accompanying sidebar text displays "Percentage indicator of signal capacity-to-noise ratio, and a Best Gain calculation for max performance. Signal %= Return from Ground, Noise %= External electrical and ground noise and Best Gain= RX Gain reasonable level (considering all other current settings). With the loop on the ground, note "Best Gain". Adjust RX Gain to match". A section header above "LIVE CONTROLS-SENSITIVITY" displays "More in "Complete Owner's Guide". (See Attachment 1).
2. I have used my V3i for approximately 6 weeks and have read and reread the "Complete Guide to the Spectra V3i" (Owner's Manual) but cannot locate any discussion of the zoom Probe "Best Gain" feature display under "Sensitivity". The Owner's Manual Page 48 discussion of Expert Menu "Sensitivity" does not show a "Best Gain" component display nor discusses it. (See Attachment 2)
3. What V3i setting(s) do I have to change to activate the "Best Gain" component display on the Live Controls-Sensitivity zoom Probe selection? Currently only "Signal" and "Noise" display and not "Best Gain"? Tnx.
