Love those Buffs!

Hi All,
Had a chance to get in a couple of hours of hunting after the rain stopped and before I had to fly to Atlanta for work. Nothing crazy good, but I did manage a couple of wheaties 35-36 and a no date Buffalo nickel 14-15; 6 inches. For some reason I just really like buffs. Been nickel time the last two weeks. One buff, one war and about 35 Jefferson's. Not sure why, maybe it is a lunar phase thing. Also found what looks to be a 20 gauge Winchester Repeater shell casing. Found 20 memorials in one hole till I stopped digging them. Needed to move on!!!
HH everyone,

The hole with the 20 pennies might of had something even better buried with it at the same time? I would check that spot again, it seems odd that someone would bury that many pennies in one spot? How old were the pennies? Had they been in the ground for a while? Great job on the nickels, it may lead to some missed gold still out there.

SilverSeeker247 - Yes, I'd agree, looks like they were all memorials.......I had the safari in tow with me two weeks ago in Baton Rouge when celebrating my daughter's college graduation, but didn't find the time to swing it. Later the next week,I was surprised to find that nickles on the Ft Lauderdale beaches did register 16 tid , toggling between c/j and all metal, running auto sens, compared to 14 tid here on central jersey beaches.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the replies. My trip to Aruba was canceled today due to the weather moving into Atlanta tonight. We were suppose to fly back this evening during the height of the weather. It is the ice that is the main problem for us.
The hole with the pennies were all memorials. Newer dates and I went over it with my coil and didn't hear anything other then penny signals. I will hit it again but I only had a short time to hunt and wanted to find some silver. Move to the yard that I had found 9 silver in and that is where I found the buff and shotgun brass.
I am in Alabama right now at a farm. The owners are parents of a college roommate. They are finding me a few homesteads from late 1800's to hunt. Can't wait. One old house was the home his father grew up in. Another has been torn down, but was called the haunted house 70 years ago. I will keep you updated on these.
Ken...Way to go LSU!!!

Bunky - Hope you get a chance to work one of those 'Bama sites before heading out. No hunting for me today, sunny & 27 degrees here. It affords me the time to rest my elbow.. Yes, it was another shaky start for the Bayou Bengals..but they pulled it out. Geaux Tigers.

Hi Ken,
I won't get to hunt this trip, didn't bring my machine. But I will be back at the end of the month for a deer hunt and will hit them a bit.
Go SEC!!!
