Lower Shaft won't Stay In LOL!

Buried Crap NJ

I saying LOL! Cause mostly the post are about getting the lower shaft to come out. I really not too happy about this......
My upper shaft at about 8 months old was replaced by Minelab due to the carbon fiber cutting through from the handle not being able to be tighten enough. I told Minelab at that time that the lower shaft was loose but they choose to only replace the upper shaft? Ever since that time the shaft has become looser and looser. Now 17 months old I can't keep it tight. Tonight while hunting when I rest the detector on the coil it will just side to a point and stop. When trying to hunt it wobbles loosely just like any bad cam lock acts. Is there a quick fix or do I nee to send it back again????
I really think the shaft is worn as it will tighten at different points (shorter) just not at the location I need it to be!

I know this may be (or is) an elementary question, but, did you assemble the two shafts with the display stalk at 90 degrees clockwise to the coil and then rotate it back 90 degrees before using the cam lock? It is possible to connect the two shafts with the display upright, in which case the cam lock will not work properly.

Thanks for all the response's. The shaft doesn't fall out it just slides without any Resistance at the longest portion, when the cam is closed. I will give Minelab a call this coming week.
