Manufactured Location

Looking at E-trac detectors and I noticed that some sellers state that, "this unit is made in Ireland". What is the significance in whether it is made in Australia or Ireland ? Does on location have better workmanship than the other ?

It doesn't make any difference from all the threads I've read on this subject. I'm sure some people will
disagree with this assessment.

Aussie ones go deeper :biggrin::ausflag::twodetecting:
Irish ones are green in colour on the inside

with my Irish heritage I have the best of both worlds :)

Terra1959,
That's NOT what SHE said LOL!!! :poke:

Production recently moved from Ireland to Malaysia after Codan Inc. bought the company.
I don't have a new machine so I can't judge the quality, but I think most people were
worried about the change because of the region's reputation for low quality manufacturing.
I haven't read many complaints since the change was made though.

Just found out that a popular high end purse company (COACH) is now making
legitimate purses in CHINA
Surprised and confused and I'm not the only one
Coach was always American made and the ID indicated same but now some/alot of real Coach purse ID indicates China
I admit I am alittle disappointed although I am aware of the economic concerns these days by major companies/and us too
I recently purchased a hand bag at a consignment store that appeared to be a real Coach but I was told was a fake
and I purchased it for $12, which is a deal for those who know because I kept researching and yes it was a REAL COACH
which is likely $200+ and due to confusion was sold as fake, it was likely given as a gift to the consignor and she was probably miffed

Lesson learned, know what your buying and for that matter what you are selling

Other lessen is that the ETrac is legit whether made in Australia or Ireland

It was interesting to see that Codan stock closed at $1.21 Friday, and hasn't been over $1.99 in the last 10 years. Considering they are into more than just MDs I was a little surprised. With the economy the way it is now nothing surprises me, but 10 years ago we were still in pretty good shape.
