map overlaying

somebody is going to have to start at first base and explain this map overlaying to me,it's all too technical for me
 
Hello CW,
You basically take an old map you have on your computer and lay it over a current Google earth map.
1. Get some old maps on your computer. Try Googling "Historic USGS Maps".
2. Download Screenhunter.
When you've finished steps 1 and 2, let me know.

ok im in the same boat as cwnut ,i downloaded screenhunter 6 and i am using xp right now(other tower with 7 lost power supply) any help would be usefull ,also can i scan in old maps to overlay on google earth?
 
Sure you can,anything that is a picture you can use as an overlay!
