Howdy,
Well, I thought I'd venture out and try to find some new sites over the weekend. The drive to the same site I'd been hunting was getting kinda long, and thought I'd give it a break. Probably not a wise choice, as I ended up driving more in the long run I think. Tried probably half a dozen other places, and just couldn't find another winner. I did manage at least a Wheat at each place, and also got what I think is the worst condition Indian Head I've ever found (I think it was an 1886 before the date completely flaked off with the crust). But otherwise, it was lots of swinging, not many good targets in the pouch. Ended up with a dozen Wheats (all very crusty - had a run of bad soil for sure).
The only redeeming target was the Merc, which managed to come through from under a big rusty nail. I located the nail first, and thought that was it, but re-scanned and still got a sweet tone. Then out popped the Merc. She's already wearing her Halloween mask too. Found a lone Roosie too.
Gotta do some more research!
