I posted to Daveo 5-15-07 about new settings and this is what I used at fairgrounds. I first tried a new area just to see if oldies would show up...nope so I moved to area I have found oldies at and the 1943 merc and 1883 IH popped out with in a few minutes...as you can see I still dig trash but can't help it...some things are just too close to coin ranges...the pulltabs you see with beaver tails still attached I did use learn and got rid of those...the digital # was 7 for those...I will tighten up program so I dig less trash...I will use this program till I find no more oldies...then I will have to lighten up on disc. but I am not sure I will be able to handle long hunts...very noisey here...tons of junk...but if I didn't have the abilities of this explorer xs it would be tough..Thanks MINELAB!! :inlove: :minelab::cheers:

Nice finds , and thanks for your advice , i will take it to heart , i used those settings yesterday and found a 39 merc and 4 wheaties , thanks again for your advice .

I run into a lot of trash (mostly those old crowncaps and iron stuff) but the goodies are there so one has to dig. The Explorers sure are nice and can work around the trash other detectors just can't handle - probably why my Stone School is still kicking out old Wheaties and that Mercury dime..other detectors have been over the grounds plenty of times. I think they just left in disgust.

Congrats on the finds MM and keep at it.

Nice finds Matt. Most of us dig our share of trash. If you're not digging some trash your passing up some goodies. WTG!
