I went out for an hour or two yesterday at a local church yard. The church is in the process of being rebuilt and there are loaders and backhoes tearing up the landscape. Mind now I have been watching this process for weeks, ever since they stripped the grass away. At any rate yesterday I asked for permission to search what was left of the original dirt not under mounds of soil removed for leach lines and what have you. You guessed it. A nice '50d quarter and a '53 5 centavos from Peru (Republica Peruana), both in very good condition. Plus a bunch of modern stuff all from an area maybe 50' by 20', leaving 80% of the area unsearched do to the 4' high mounds of dirt. Lesson learned. I'll go back when they fill the trenches and just hope there is not too much silver in the bottom of said trenches.
