Merry Christmas to all

I said some dumb things also, but hey, you and i have moved on. I'm not pizzed at anybody. If i got mad at everyone i disagreed with, well, i'd be one sorry sob. Lets let bygones be bygones. I guess if we are all on this forum, we have some common ground. Some take it more serious than others, myself, i like to have fun but i also like to hunt. So with that said, i apologize for the cyber wedgie, just be thankful it wasn't a cyber swurlie.....Now, lets all get back in there and post up some pics so i can get through this winter without having to take a trip south....hh

Bob,

You're one of the reasons I like to read this forum. You're direct, and say what's on your mind. All I've seen from you have been opinions based on your own personal experiences with metal detecting and one can't ask for more than that.

Even if what you've experienced doesn't jive with something I've discovered (so far what you have said has rung true with my machine and hunting conditions...) , I don't have a problem with that. A difference of opinion, or even a strong opinion, to me, does not mean a personal attack, and I don't treat it as such. In fact, even if I did encounter what might appear to be a personal statement, I can choose not to be offended and move on...no harm no foul. I had to deal with people where I used to work, that were just waiting to be offended...some went out of their way to be offended. After a few years of that, I made up my mind that I wasn't going to go that route.

So keep it up...I like to read what you say and how you say it, and I feel the same way about all other posters on this great forum. All of you Minelab users' tips and opinions have really helped me after I chose to buy the SE and I appreciate it.

you know , im new , i dont say much, but seems to me , we really dont know eachother for the most part , we're here to learn metal detecting ,show finds . get new ideas , so whats to get pissed about , i for one know enough people in my life to get upset at ( cause they wouldnt let me say pissed ) lol
so why take it here ,.metal detecting and the forums are my get away . just my 2 cents worth ., if its even worth that much (lol)

Hi Bob,
Not sure what screw up you made, but I really don't want to hear about that. It is nice that you help folks out and such.

Here is something that sort of irks me. Every so often someone will pop-up or -in and do a lot of posting. The Explorer forum suddenly becomes "Bob and Sue's" personal forum. I can wade through the posts which really do not interest me, but I always wonder if the offender(s) has an idea what the forum was like before they came.

I have seen this forum go through many changes. Heck, I can remember when this was the BBS forum! Sadly, lots of the old timers that use to post on here are gone. I am not sure if they switched brands of detector or were turned off by the influx of new posters and the "Bob and Sue" syndrome. It definitely seems to me that shortly after the SE came out a bunch of new folks came here and the old timers sort of faded away.

My thoughts for you Bob, try to blend in. You have sort of become the Explorer SE daddy. I do appreciate your honesty and your being up front with folks. Personally, if I see someone's name more than around six times on various posts - I quit reading them.

Take care and HH - BF

I got into a situation where I was defending my Explorer on the Tesoro forum. I will never do that again! Were talking about machines here, not members of our families. Only plastic, wire, diodes, resistors, and chips. If you put that in prospective, It makes it easier to get along.

Good point Daveo! (Don't dig up ALL the old coins in the Dubuque area....still want to get down there sometime and hunt with you!

The only thing that divides us here on this forum is, "we have never met face to face"! It is so easy to disparage one another here on this Internet. I'll tell you what, you take the time and effort to hunt with someone on this forum, I believe your perception of them will change. You may realize you have more in common than just metal detecting? I was hesitant meeting some of the people on this forum until the St. Louis Findmall hunt. I'm here to tell you, they are real nice people, and I'm trying my best to make friends and get to know and MD with them. I personally want to make nice and talk positive about others and their finds. Merry Christmas ALL...
