Minelab called right back!

dasho

New member
My E-Trac went on the fritz (I thought "oh no")...called Minelab (702-891-8809) & got the answering service ("oh no")...
Trina called me back in like 10 minutes ("awesome!")...

So now my flagship is taking a trip to Vegas...
Wish I could tag along!
(was living in Vegas in 2000 & went by their office & service center just before buying an Explorer XS
& they were very cool & took me back into their shop & showed me what their machine was all about...
They were gracious & I really enjoyed the tech touring me through everything...I was sold...& I still am...)

Anyway, Trina said send my ailing E-Trac to:

Minelab USA Inc.
871 Grier Drive
Suite B-1
Las Vegas, NV 89119

She told me it would take about 30 business days turn-around (guess that would be 6 weeks)
but that they had brought in more techs to speed things up...

I still believe in Minelab...

& I'm glad I held on to my trusty ol' XS for backup...still going strong after 10 years!

The Explorer platform is king of the turf...bar none...

Great Dasho good to hear. I sent in my stock coil to get repaired and they said they are away behind on orders and repairs and in the midst of all this they are transfering to Chicago and I sent my coil in a month ago. Hope you are right.

Great to hear that Minelab's starting to return calls !

If they didn't improve their customer service - they would have sure lost a lot of sales in the future!

Fantastic machines - but it's tough when you call the company ((( 6 ))) times in two weeks and no one ever calls you back !

Call me skeptical.

If the above post was made from a long time forum member and not someone who appears to have joined the forum today with two post's under his belt, it would carry a little more weight.

No offense dasho please, but this sounds like an ad.

Hope dasho is right and Minelab is getting their act together.

I've only been on here a few weeks, but this is what happened today:

I had called Minelab yesterday, got the answering service, but no one ever called back. I just called there 5 minutes ago, told the answering service that I never got a call back, and they said to hold for the manager. They then transferred me directly to a real, live Minelab person!

Repair address given above is correct. They said to include letter with mailing address, description of problem, and telephone number. They will call when they get it, and then again with a repair estimate.

Hope this helps.

John

Guess we'll see what's up here in a few weeks...

I'm hoping for the best...

I just got that E-Trac a little over a month ago...barely used...hope it's not too expensive to fix...

I was pretty bummed when it crashed after having been reading about the Minelab crisis...

& then so happy when I got called back right away...then coming out of the shadows & writing "ad copy"...

Well, anyway, it got me to join the forum...

Good omen though...went out tonight to an old pounded park with my hat-clip light & found an indian head with my old XS...

Maybe not silver, but I'd just found three there with the E-trac before it died...

Happiest Hunting...

My son bought a etrac and with the problems he has been having trying to get it fixed.Well long story made short I will never buy a mine lab( Maybe when they sell to a new owner) His has been in there shop 6 weeks now still no word on when he can hope to get it back. All this and it took 3 months for them to agree some thing was wrong with it and give him a number to send it in on.They are the worst i have ever seen to return calls. If they dont like the word getting out about there loosy custumer service they wont be long before they are looking for a buyer for there busness

I am in no way trying to disrespect anyone or anything but.
WOW! I have a v3. I broke it in a way that was out of warranty and they still fixed it for Free and had it back in One week.
I have called on Two coils suspecting them bad. They asked no questions and sent me two new coils???
I thought about buying a E Trac to compare but will pass for now.
The V3 is performing pretty good compared to my xs I used to own.
Glad I read this post.

I'm gonna think positive...I have no choice...I don't think they're gonna forget us hobby folk

just because they have government contracts or are riding some African goldrush...

Maybe that's part of the slow-down scenario, but there are too many hobbyists that like their machines worldwide

to just let it all fizzle...I honestly think they are scrambling to get their %#@! together to keep valued customers...

At least I hope so...

Like I said, I'm trying to keep it positive...

& when they read this stuff (& I'm sure they do) I hope it encourages them to try harder...

I'm sure my 2 cent piece is worth nada, but I have my fingers crossed, none-the-less...

I gotta

(hey, that rhymed)

I'll take a 2 cent piece any day dasho! I haven't had any problems with mine yet, but I do believe they will get it together also!!

well it never got better for me..........THEY STILL OWE me a rain cover, which is supposedly STILL on backorder (what a joke) they could make 500 of these in one day. Been 3 months now...........And the Andy sabisch book which they took my money for, they do not even carry anymore! Luckily Andy seen my other post and he sent me his book at his cost (THANKS ANDY!!)

But as far as minelab, they don't seem to care, sure it is not a lot of money, but it is a principle thing to me, they got my money and owe me product. I have been caught in rain several times this year and had to quit because they cannot get in gear and send me that rain cover. I love the etrac but still am upset with their customer service. :veryangry:

It ain't right what they are doing Goes4ever. But the rain covers are crap. They keep the rain off but you best not use the TDI info as the glare of the plastic cover makes it dang near impossible to see what it says. I just quit when it rains. I have seen the plastic food wrap used. It works just as good as the rain cover but doesn't look as cool. jim

Hehe, Goes knows what I went through, he was there when my Etrac took a dump. Multiple unanswered and unreturned phone calls, long turn around time and turn around date that kept getting pushed back. I just think 30 business days is unacceptable for a prolonged period of time.

I will admit though, Minelab did admit it was a board fault with my detector and fixed it for no charge, then 2 day aired it to me. That made me have hope of improvement, hate to see bad reports yet.
