Minelab E-trac and Gold nuggets

It might find some large nuggets but you would be much better off with a detector designed for finding gold nuggets. That being said an Xterra 70 with the High Frequency coil would be a much better choice for nugget hunting.

I just went out and air tested my Etrac on a 23 grain natural gold nugget and it would get it good to about 6" or a little more with sens. at 25 man. or 24 auto +3 in factory coin mode .It did a little better with open screen all metal.Digital numbers were at 11-13 fer. and 6-8 conductive. This is a fairly flat oval shaped nugget about the size of a 22 short bullet half flattened. On 5 or 6 grain nuggets about 2" at best. Not the best small gold machine by far but it did better than I thought it would, Ray.
