Hmm, never knew that either. I wish it was easy to buy lower rods!
 
I only knew about 2 different lengths. I bought a bunch before the price increase hit me. I have one mounted on every coil I own and I have a Sunray probe. That way, all I have to do unscrew the cable, unlatch the rod and put the next one on to change coils.
