MODULATION HELP.

BIG G

New member
This may be a stupid question but when you are in say stereo mixed mode with vco on is it best to have modulation on or off any ideas and what do you use and why please..

The only reason I want to use modulation is to gauge depth. I have mine set to max and sometimes it works, kind of. Most of the time it doesn't. May be my particular machine, my settings, or it may be the design.

I have read in the forums however, that a modulation setting of 2 may help identify iron nails by breaking up their signal.

I think the vast majority of V3i users ignore modulation.

Modulation seems to work just fine for me. I don't use it because I see no reason to make deeper targets sound quieter. I'm looking for older coins which are deeper.

I don't use modulation either, I want the deep coins to sound as loud as they can on the V3i.

I think modulation is backwards the deeper the object the louder it should sound off, but that would probably cause another problem. So I do not use it. Yazoo

Great that's what i wanted to know, thank you for all for your feed back i did not think modulation made a lot of sense being switched on..:beers:

That's the reason that the V3 I is such a great machine, it has all the features we could ever need. Whether we use them or we don't.You or I might not use modulation but some people might if they do it's there.

Could not agree more mr moderator ,ROB..:clapping:

I dont think modulation works in All Metall, Modulation it's for targets' depth by the mean if the id tone is on so if tone is loud is a surface target and if is a quieter it is deeper.

Spot on, wish we could change that!! Most of us that own these detectors aren't after the blaring signal 2" down....

Correct no modulation in all metal.
