Monster fall brown and an average NY steelhead...

Wow! Great catch!

A couple of beauties........

Thanks for looking. The river is no secret, the salmon river in Pulaski NY. We catch and release mostly, only taking a few small eaters and a female brown or two for the eggs (Steelhead LOVE brown trout eggs over salmon eggs, brown trout eggs exude a certain smell...) Kind of wish I could have weighed or at least measured that brown. The browns are coming in to spawn and the colors on the males are awesome. Hooked over 25 steelies that day, the Salmon river is the largest cold water tributary to lake Ontario and there is some great steelhead action with fish topping 20 pounds.

Killer fish great job on the pics the brown looks at least 12 pounds!!!:beers:

Been there once over 20 yrs ago, had a great time and caught a brownie at the mouth of the river where it enters Lake Ontario. Stayed in a rental trailer on the shore of the Lake. It was September and it snowed pretty good overnight.
