More Deus issues

So I talked to my dealer AGAIN last night and he said he would call xp AGAIN today and talk to either Moe or Michael to see if he can do a direct swap. Please let the detector gods shine down and say to just swap it and get this mess over with :)

I'm waiting for mine right now.............would not be very happy with this myself. XP needs to fix this. They will gain more in loyalty than it will ever cost them. Sounds like they are a bit late to fix it so far......

Add me to the list of satisfied XP customers. I've owned my Deus for about 2 years now and I've had no problems whatsoever.

I hear ya. My good friend has one you can add him to the list also. he never had a issue BUT I DO!!!!

Just sent XP in France a very long and detailed email. Lets see how they respond. Ill keep ya fine folks here updated :)

I am sure XP will do what is needed, I have never heard anything but very good reports from them. As I said in a previously removed post a complete swap would be my choice.....Better to send everything, get it fixed or whatever than bit and piece it, saves time in the long run.....

Hope all works out, keep us posted.

Curious as to what Alain may respond with. Good luck.

Must admit this is becoming a very bizarre problem, what i mean by this is that yes i can understand one possibly 2 problems of course anything that is electronic and man made could fail at some stage in its life,as a generl rule a electronic item will either fail in the very early days or old age these are usually the 2failure time durations.

Of course no one like problems and usually the makers and support usually put thing right pretty quickly, going back to this bazarre problem but 3-4 major failures on different items ie coil, controller and i am not sure of the other problems but having these amount of failures in such a short time and these various items must be put together in different parts of the factory so i doubt that they are linked. Why all these failures have occured i am not really sure why and i guess it will all come out after XP have checked all the various systems on your Deus.

Another thing that seems crazy and i have not really heard before is after a failure of say a controller or coil most manufactures jump through hoops to make the owner happy again and from feedback in the UK and in Europe as a whole have not heard of any major problems in the same league as what you are having, the dealer or supplier of your unit do not seem to be helping as much as a normal dealer would, why i dont have a clue but normally it would be sorted out much quicker than your problem.

The dealer saying they are awaiting feedback from XP is not the normal as the contract was between you and the dealer and it should be him that is pulling out all the stops ie replacing the Deus quickly and then they get in contact with XP but once again this is not happening. So apart from the major problems that you are having and i can fully understand you being peeved about it but something does not sound right about this whole scenario and i cannot work it out.

Hope you get it all sorted out very quickly as most of us hope it will be,in all the years i have been detecting i have never had a problem with either a detector or detector related product but yours must be a rare case indead.

Good luck

I like what you're saying here and I agree. I recently asked dealers to respond to my post on this subject, but only heard from one dealer...very interesting indeed. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?83,2127711

UPDATE: The email did it. I sent france a email. I don't know who reads them or if they are direct to the owner but I am pleased to say within 30 mins I got a reply. Not a automated one neither. A stern reply from XP in France stating they will call here and see what the issue is and will take care of it.

Low and behold 20-30 after that my dealer calls and states he just got a call from Michael at detector electronics and that either he himself will give me a complete new ws4 package or they will. So I told my dealer I will call them directly as I want a call tag in return to ship the old one back. Michael got on the phone with me and was super nice and said they decided that they want to make me happy after talking with his brother Daniel and I have the choice of getting one sent straight from them or my dealer. Michael was super nice on the phone and was willing to help out. Why now?

Moral of the story is if the lion, tin man and scarecrow cant help you than go straight to the Wizard. In this case whoever it was that received my detailed email mail in France, GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

Thank you everyone during my long flight of issues and being there to hear me out.

Kind of my thoughts Mega B.

Not that this is the case, but if I were XP I'd be thinking someone is trying to get a whole new setup, after buying a used machine, by claiming problems with the different components and using the forum to gain support to force it to happen.
True I agree. In fact I have thought that is what they might think I was up too. But let me burst a bubble here. The first week I had it I was calling Moe and he was doing his best to try and figure out why I was having severe false issues while machine throwing number 25 and sticking on it.
Now one week later hunting with my dealer also having a issue. Calling moe again and trying different settings ie: lower GB, up the GB mess with disc notch etc etc

month and half later called Andy Sabisch and let him hear my headphones over phone as machine went crazy making a bap, bap, bap, abap, bap sound acting completely unstable.

all the way up to trying a different coil as a few have been known to be bad straight from the get go according to Xp themselves.

So yes I agree with you the entire situation seems like a new detector that is 2 months old is out of date and deserve a new one

Curious, did you point out the replies on this thread?

Either way you got a brand new one out of the deal. Should make you happy.

southwind, I did not point out replies to france if that is what your asking? Im not sure?

But yes I am very happy and will keep my fingers crossed :)

Awesome! I had a hunch sending a e-mail to Alain the founder and owner would maybe get this rectified in your favor! Man I am happy for you!

Good for you and great on XP!

Seems XP believes in the "Lemon law".......Even if they did not have to.
