More Silver Than Wheats

Got my new Sunray 8 inch coil today and went to a yard I've hunted many times with several detectors and coils over the last 3 years. Couldn't believe we missed these. They were all 7 to 8 inches deep in moderate trash with power lines nearby. Ralph's advice on coils was right on the money, literally.

Nice work, Jim, at finding those masked coins with the X8! :clapping:

I bought the X8 a few years ago, and I have found hundreds of masked silvers/wheats/injuns with it. It's a winner in my books.
My best memory of using the X8 was on a long sidewalk strip that was producing many oldies for me and my hunting buddies. We had pounded this spot for weeks, and the finds started to drop considerably after about the 6th hunt. I then decided to try out the X8, and that day turned out to be one of my best at the spot...12 silvers, some silver jewelry, and 15-20 wheats. It was hitting coins very deep, and much more closer to the sprinkler heads and underground electrical meters than the stock coil could. A definite winner!!

Congrats,

Very nice finds Jim !! I'm with you and the Captain on the Sunray X-8 coil it's sweet and it's light .If you can find a set of those coil inserts for it ( no longer made) It makes for some real easy sliding on grass and helps you in twiggy areas also .
