Thanks everyone.... I really enjoy and value the interaction of this group .... (insert grain of salt) ..
I could research detectors for the rest of my life and not get a lot of mixed reviews.... This group ..( or at least 15 or 20 of us) uses them a lot and you find great stuff..... so I place a lot of weight on the units you are using.
I haven't gotten a new detector in a long time .... have an excalliber that I used a lot in Oregon but not in missouri, also 1236x2 which is a good machine, but I always seem to find myself going to the troy shadow x2 in crappy ground.... it's a great machine.
I'd like to try an shadow x5 .... and an explorer.... but since money is tight I have to agree with Vernon's statement...
Probably my best choice for another great all around machine is the XLT.... I tried my friends XLT quite a few years ago but remember it wasn't to heavy and worked well. So now it's time to start saving (don't tell my wife
). and maybe I can buy a good used one in the fall.
