It's raining here today-bummer, can't go hunting. Thought you might enjoy hearing about a hunt the wife & I had on 4/19/08 at an old site we located. The following coins came from moderately mineralized ground at 7" to 9" deep-with a couple around 10". (1) Barber half (1909-P)---(1) Barber quarter (1903-0)---(1) Wash. quarter (1960-D)---(3) Barber dimes (1900-P, '12-S & '13-P)---(4) Mercury dimes ('20-S, '24-P, '35-S & '43-S)---(1) Rosie dime ('46-P) Also--(2) Injuns (1899 & '03)---(:geek: Wheaties ('16-P, '19-P, '19-P, '40-S, '42-P, '42-P, '44-S & '44-S) The best find was The Lord's prayer pendant. These Explorers are silver monsters! I have had the XS, EX II, and now the SE and they ad up to one thing---Explorer=deep silver! Sorry I don't have the equipment (or the sense) to post pictures. Thanks for reading, Del

Congrats on a heck of a day of detecting! Sure is a lot of fun finding Silver like that, that is for sure. If you know someone with a Scanner or Digital Camera, maybe they could do some pics for you and download them for you on here. Good Luck and HH when you get back out.:detecting:

Thanks guys for the welcome and the congrats on that hunt-really appreciate it. Steve, we are retired and are blessed to be able to travel some. That hunt was in Idaho-sorry, I should have mentioned that-we're goin back. Very little on top but the deep targets were there. Thats the beauty of the Explorer, as I see it, you can go into an area thats been hammered to death by everybody and his brother and (in most cases) pull out those deep, difficult targets that have been missed. To answer your question-at the time we were using the stock slimline coil but I really like that FBS 1050. It's going to be interesting to hear what NH Bob & others think of the new coil thats coming out. Take care, Del

Del, great to know you have a detecting wife like me !!!

Great hunt, and glad to see how happy you are with Explorers...

Hi Snowy-----Your wife likes detecting to! They make pretty good hunting partners, don't they? We have to watch them though or they will wax us out on finds! I got mine started detecting a few years back and she took to it like a duck to water. We have a lot of fun detecting together and thats what it's all about-getting out & enjoying yourself. Later, Del
