Much Tighter Pattern

New member
Im using this pattern after digging my too many holes to tell.Gold hits dead on up to 6 inches for me..The junk doesnt.I left the coin area the same. All my gold hits in this pattern perfect besides the small earing..Im adding a pattern that open up foil(the earing hits in this).Im willing to miss that small earing rather than dig 100 foil targets for every earing. So if you are bored and wanna try here you go..Im using the one with Foil closed out.Working great so far..HH

Thanks for sharing - haven't used my unit yet (reading Andy's book and the manual first) but I am saving patterns that I come across.
Pardon my inexperienced question, but does this "pattern" include all the other settings that goes with this? Or is this just the disc information?
Thanks
Barry

I think this is just the Pattern..Does anyone else know if it downloads the settings also,or just the pattern.I did notice that when i save my settings on the E-Trac exchange..they are a diffrent file type. And Cant seem to upload that file type to this website.

I agree with Southwind that this pattern would work well for cherry picking. However, I have learned to do much of my hunting in IM mode with only a couple bars on the bottom to null out nails. In foil infested sites I'll add a couple CO bars on the left of the screen. When in doubt I'll switch to my modified coin pattern. As I get more experience with this wonderful machine I am learning that, with the E Trac, the best discrimination is between my ears.

I don't have any experience finding gold rings, but after being buried for an extended period do you know whether gold will stay within the FE boundries you've defined?

Thanks

Well Unfort I dont have much experence with buried gold Hehe ..I have the one ring..It locked in Fe 12..All my air test did the same withing 6 to 7 inches ..So im thinking deep gold this may miss. But i will get more Good targets in the end I figure just becuse im Not burned out digging all that low tone trash..The % or rings to trash in the ground is low..Ill get the rings that Lock on and dig more coins while i look for those Good solid Gold signals. The coin side of the pattern is wide open for those deep coins :)

The nickles Hit good Frank..Tabs all, when within say 6 inches deep...Seem to bounce..Now and then ill get one thats really solid that has me fooled good,But for the most part they bounce. Now again I dont have much experence with gold like alot of you guys,But the testing ive done gold hits solid.Esp the rings(maybe due to the shape?).So with this pattern any signal that hits in that end that repeats Good..Dig.Ive have dug prob 50 targets that bounced in that area and none were good targets. So I will keep digging a few of the bouncy ones just to keep testing, but for the most part im Trusting the Discrimination on the jewlery end from now on!My back tells me i have too..lol

Jim - what mode are you in or what are your setting that you are using this pattern with? This is just a disc pattern, it gets uploaded into a particular mode...
So being a newbee, i don't know what mode settings, universal settings and preference settings you are using this disc pattern on?

You can upload, download or save patterns and settings (modes) with E-TRAC Xchange. If you have Andy Sabisch's book, the instructions are on page 48.

Ok this website doesnt allow glb file type uploads....I will have to write them out - auto Sens plus 3--Threshold level 16-------Volume limit 30------------volume Gain 30-----------response Normal ----Threshold Pitch 30 Tone ID----- Number of tones Multi ------------------Sounds Conduct------------Variability 21-----------Limits 30 Recovery Deep Off---------Recovery Fast On (this depends on your site).--------Trash Density High--------Ground Difficult

Throwing out some good old coins too. I definitely wouldnt go with a pattern like that. Way too much disc for my liking.... I prefer minimal disc, and switch to a smaller coil in high trash. Use long tones and let your ear make the determination of what to dig, and what not to dig, not a pattern... jmho

This pattern is for hitting parks/schools for jewlery and coins..Not a Good relic program thats for sure lol.I think the only coins it will miss tho..Are the Fat type indian Heads..And the flying eagle cents....Every other coin should hit. 3 cent peices might not hit I'll have to check on the emulator...Ive found the discrimination to work very well on the E-Trac ..I used the SE for 2 years ..All metal /ferrous tones all the time..I hunted strictly by ear...The E-Trac works way Better with discrimination than without...Or i would be using all metal.Let me know if there are other coins that pattern misses tho..Id like to make corrections to a more open pattern.

It changes the sounds of the Targets.. Try it out.The way Im running this ,I can just hear the threshold..But when I Hit a target Its so loud That i actually Have to turn my headset down.I like it this way Myself.I really like the sounds with those settings..I think silver actualy sounds diffrent than a clad..Its Higher pitched ..Maybe its me..Im testing that still. But these settings are really a personal prefrence...Thats one of the best features of the explorer and e-trac i think,We can really make these things sound So many diffrent ways.
