Multi tones?? 2 tones?? 3 tones??? :stars:

Big Boys Hobbies

Well-known member
Always been a multitone guy. Wanna start digging more nickles. Been experimenting with 2,3 etc tones. What you guys think? What does everyone run??

I have always been a multitone since I started. But over the last 5 or so hunts in TTF Im pretty sure im going to stick to 2 tones from now on. There is absolutely no falsing. And I have done nothing but pull goodies out of all the places I have hunted since I started hunting in TTF.
Thanks Jordan

Good post! his is how i run My F75 SE. It helps considerably with the falsing and extra tones. Gonna see if it transitions to the Etrac as well! Thanks for the post!

I'm not one to run from digging a supposed pull tab or bottle cap,,,, cuz I KNOW for a fact that some of them are good targets. That said I think TTF is what I will start with (got my machine yesterday !!) it will be low tone=no dig,,,, high tone =dig

Maybe its just me, or maybe its the places I hunt, but I've never had much luck with TTF. It seems like to me, that if you're hunting more modern areas (introduction of aluminum cans) and newer, stick with multi, otherwise you're going to be digging A LOT of junk. Not trying to discourage you, by all means experiment, confidence in your machine is huge. Another point is how open do you plan on keeping your discrimination? From my understanding, its a bit counter-intuitive to discriminate a lot out while running TTF.

Bart I use Multi tone in an area first and criss cross my pattern north south then east west something like that you know what I mean, Then I will give TTF a try to see if I missed anything. Nickles hit right at 11-12-13 conductive for me I say 11 cause I hit on a buffalo nickel there once and was only maybe 3-4 inches down. I don't care what the ferrous no is usually ever on anything, usually I just go by the Concuctive no. I may flip to full open quick mask to double check but still go by the Conductive no.

used it today with an open screne,,,, did not get any goodies but did not run my coil over any I believe,,, that is a good feeling. It was an awful place to start prolly just absolutely full of iron,,,, but that is what I wanted to hear and see ,,, how the etrac handled it. Pulled a few ammo cases out of a hole with iron in it,,,, I think the machine is working as it should,,,, school is in session fur-sure !!!
