I would like for some people to give there opinion on using multi vs 2 tone please

Thanks PS I'm starting to love this etrac!!!!

I use 2 tones when I hunt in Ferrous sounds because it workd very well in iron, it unmasks really good in ferrous/2 tone and mine wont false in ferrous/2 tone. I usually use a slightly modified relic pattern when I hunt in ferrous. I rely on the stability of the CO number.

If I hunt in Conductive sounds I usually switch to multi-tones.

I think, if you are able to hunt a site multiple times you would do well to hunt first in ferrous/2 tones then switch to conductive/multi to cleanup.

This is just my opinion and I reserve the right to be wrong.

I have been using multi tone for so long I cannot even imagine being w/o it! I used it on my xterra 70 as well. I just LOVE that unmistakable high pitched silver signal!

Personally I hunt with conductive 4-tones. Multi tones gives me a headache and I can hardly make sense of the sounds.

I use the conductive 4 tone, really gives me another range to ID by ear also, just works well for me and have no problem with it. Hardrock

I use 4-tone/ferrous. I was thinking about trying out multi for a while.

I asked this in another thread but, why would someone choose 1 over the other?

I think 2 tone ferrous and multi tone conductive are both great... depending on the situation. I use multi when hunting parks, schools, etc, that have a normal amount of junk. For the really trashy iron infested areas I use 2 tone (sometimes 4 tone) ferrous with a wide open screen because it sifts through the iron and finds the good stuff. So, each has it's use IMHO.

I recently switched to 2 tone FE from multi CO and it's amazing how you can separate out the iron from the potential targets without the iron null causing any sort of delay.
The targets seem to be easy to isolate this way and the screen ID becomes pretty accurate.
This method seems to work well by allowing you to instantly catch a piece of a tone of any non FE target and then investigate the item further using the smart screen.
I recently found a number of King Georges large coppers and colonial buttons mixed amongst the typical iron trash on one of my Long Island, NY plowed field sites using this method vs. the multi CO method I was previously using.
