MX Sport Just read the field test by Andy Sabisch looks good!

If I did have an interest in the MX Sport and purchased one and had to send it back, well thats life sometimes. But it does kinda make futures sales a bit tougher. I went through the bad plastic coil problem with my original Racer. Sent several coils back, not a big deal as i had a new one a week later. Nokta/Makro like Whites will take care of their customers. What kinda got to me was the statements that Steve Howard from Whites said........It's better then the silly Frenchie thing ( XP Deus) and " Garrett might at least have enough competences to know you can't have wireless underwater" Well you have better make darn sure you have a very good machine if your gonna make those kinds of remarks. So Steve I ask, Does Whites have enough competence to get the software right ? Apparently not on the first try, maybe the second try will see better results?

In all fairness to Andy (kinda getting verbally whacked on a few threads), I think he possibly did have a good functioning machine. It seems to me they might have made a last second tweak. If so it should have been sent back out for testing before going into production. Its the same thing that they did with the MX5, machines tested good, then at the last second they added in one little diode then sent to production. Had they sent it back out to a few testers first, they would have realized that the one little change created a tone glitch. If Andy had tried the MX Sport that I tried, I think he would have realized quite soon that something was amiss.

However,at the end of the day the machines will be fixed and this will all come to pass. It just seems lately that Whites chooses the hard way to get to the "end of the day"

I really wish you'd quit whining and carrying on so much. It's getting irritating!!

Sorry, thought it was only fair that since you are being so irritating that I could be too......guess I was wrong. But to defend a company that you insist has absolutely no problems (management and machines), and attacks anyone that does acknowledge so....well if my opinions do not align with yours ....tough....don't read them. Maybe Findmall could create a "safe space " thread and you could go there when you see a opinion that you disagree with. If you look at my signature you will see I have several White's machines. I like Whites and if you bothered to read my other post I have stated numerous times that I hope they do well and wished them the best., but lately I do wonder.

Wow. That is pretty sad. I would hate to see whites go up the big buck route and forget about the loyal dealers and customers who have supported whites for years.

What about the LR-Pro? that appears to be headed in the right direction....LOL

Edit to read: DR-Pro, divining rod pro instead of long range locator......

IN what direction Whites is going. Appears they have no problem changing "management" and now this.

Wow, that's sad. To the guys like myself that have been hunting since the 70's you couldn't think Jimmy Sierra without thinking Whites Metal detectors

If this is a factual story, and not April fool, or too one sided about Jim Normandi. It's all about the numbers to any company. Produce what they expect, or be replaced. Jimmy will be missed as a Whites representative..He is a very nice guy.
And was most likely done wrong from his perspective.
I would be interested in hearing what Whites says too.Sometimes business affiliations come to and end.Sometimes a change of direction dictates changes... Sometimes people with long tenure with a company resist new ways of doing business, and that creates turmoil that can not be worked out. Leaving no recourse except to severe relationships.

I personally will miss Jimmy . He is a fine person. A goodwill ambassador for detecting.

He's probably enjoying retirement right now, he has to be well into his 80's !

I've bought several detectors from one of the sponsors, Backwoods Detectors, but never a Whites, because mail order sales were not allowed until recently. Maybe when the MX Sport gets sorted out, I'll buy one instead of the Fisher F44. Here in Oregon, a waterproof detector could be a worthwhile acquisition. Since the rainy season is winding down, there is no rush.

The waterproofing was a big sell to me here in FL with the daily storm season coming up. I've used it already in some fairly heavy rain and no issues whatsoever. A little shower clears the parks quick!

Hah! I remember my 1st summer in Florida and it rained almost daily at 3.30pm...
Car wipers couldn't clear it fast enough but 15 minutes after you'd swear it hadn't rained at all!!
Could never figure that one out????? It's the Sunshine State right...and not Seattle!!! Lol

I was on the fence about the MX Sport and considered picking one up in the morning at Pro Stock Detectors in Kalamazoo.
After reading all this I think I will wait a while.
I have so many detectors now but do need a good simple water machine.

I have nothing but respect for Andy and what he has contributed to this sport.
Learned much reading his books about my new Minelab explorer years ago.
I do feel he gives good reviews on detectors and place a lot of value his opinions.

However ... reading any published product review is kinda like listening to a politicians speech.

"Well, 3 months since the last post on this thread, have just heard this "fabulous" machine has been 'withdrawn from sale' by the Manufacturer".
