My 1st Gold Ring w/ Diamonds

Louisiana Ken

New member
My uncle lost his 1949 AAA baseball championship ring he earned after hitting a grand slam against the Braves in Memphis. He lost the ring 12 years ago in his back yard. The 86 year old Iwo Jima survivor (wounded twice on that island) didn't ask me to look for it. I kinda insisted I give it a try. Well, after digging about 20 targets that 18K gold honker of a ring with 13 diamonds showed its beautiful self. It made my day handing him that ring. That ring has sentimental value through the roof !!! Etrac numbers were 12-34.

Anyways over at that 1820's circa house I pulled out 2 more silver quarters (1939 and another 1943). A cool thimble from the 30's - 40's popped out (says Luzianne 100% good coffee). The biggest beaver tail pull tab I ever seen popped out (wish they put dates on those things - make it more fun digging them up). Also found a neat looking piece of lead that reminds me of an old bullet mold (looks like you can make buckshot with it). Also found 7 wheats, a huge chunk of camp lead, lots of bullets and another 1911 "V" nick. I'll let you know if I find anything else.

Good Luck at Your Sites,

Kenny

Thanks everyone!
The ring was only about 1 1/2 inches down. He has 4 acres and we narrowed it down to about an acre. It was located about 100' from the area he thought it would be. I was using my 10X12 SEF coil. I just sent the story to Minelab.

great effort,,, hope ML prints it for ya !!!!!

those are some great finds!

here's a funny one!... and pretty amazing too!.... my GF uses my back up machine to my ETrac.... my AT Pro... and goes out here and there with me... she found an exact! thimble as that one!... even smashed flat like that!... at a local park we frequent because it has a dam built in the early 1900's...

When I saw the pic of the thimble I immediately thought.... 'did she lost that thimble and someone refound it again?!?!'

Wow, Minelab posted my story! Thanks for suggestion Big Boy Hobbies!
