After a couple weeks without much time to hunt,I was able to get out tonight for a short time.I Decided to hit a site that I have hunted for the past couple years and made several 1st time finds. Here is a short video with my results. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZNRV3DwPi8

That is a rare find. Major congrats on that one! (...of course, I'm talking about the Seated Quarter - not the antique nail.)

WOW!!b]Now that's what makes your hands shake. Congratulations!!!

Congratulations. I enjoyed watching the video so much I watched it a few more times. Its amazing how deep the E-Trac can detect silver.
Looks like the 18x15 coil is working out for you in those open fields.

Aother nice video and great coin, you must be using the ferrous mode cause the tone on the coin is mid tone.
Actually I just looked and I was on conduct tones, but I had the threshold pitch down on 1...I forgot to move it back after using ferrous tones on some cellar holes..Glad you mentioned that :) Thx for watching everyone.

Congrats on that seated... She's a beaute :clapping: .... Sure enjoy hour hunts and want to thank you for taking us along....

Agree! Nice find and good video shooting. But...If I dug with a shovel on school ground grass in the Pacific Northwest, it wouldn't be long until all metal detector folks would be run out. I may be out of line but I would ask that you consider using something like the Gator that Bryce comments about in the Explorer forum. Also, putting your dirt on some kind of ground cover rather than the grass makes sure you get all the dirt back in the hole and there is little or no signature that metal detecting was done there.
If we don't start 'educating' our own, respectfully hopefully, we'll all be hurt! Note the number of posts throughout the forums in that past few months asking for help lobbying a local jurisdiction who are conducting hearings to ban metal detecting. When that happens it's too late. People have already noticed the disregard for the turf and are now in the prevention mode. We have to try to prevent it so it doesn't get to a 'hearing.' Jim

Thx for watching Grumpy..If you have watched any other of my many videos You will see that I always take good care of my sites. This site is a special site that Im able to use a shovel(behind a school but its actually a seperate park).Ive hunted here for years now and you cannot see one sign of any holes/yellow spots. That shovel I was using is about 15 inches long. When you are digging 10 inch deep holes I find large u shaped cuts,Deep enough to get below the roots will stop the grass from yellowing.I would normally use my drop screen but since they stopped maintaining the park for the year I figure I can get 99% of the dirt back in without it.The parks worker told me I did a great job NOT making a mess earlier this year also :) Thx for the kind comments.HH

Great Find!!! Would love to watch the video but I'm on Dial-up and it would take until tomorrow to download it. GO E-TRAC! HH
