My BEST 4 hour hunt EVER:yo: Injuns everywhere! and some silver!

get some hunt time in this week. The coil arsenal of 6" excelerator....1050 FBS...and 12" Excelerator is definately ready.

Nice Indian Heads! It's been awhile since I got 6 Indians in that short of time! Back when Island Park in Fargo, ND was good, one would find that easily but those days are gone. I also like that Badge you found. Nice Silver also. Congrats on all them great finds! Continued Success, Good Luck and HH at that Site.:clapping:

the stuff is obviously still there on the right day and with the right machine...settings...etc. Your tips helped me out a lot and to this day I have incorporated many of them into my personal settings. Again...thanks for sharing your settings with me a while back.

Well, I have the 4 X 7.5 Excellerator coil, that seems to get very good depth for its size and have been using that. I just don't know if the purchase of another small one would be that much better. Of course, results speaks for itself, and maybe one more coil to the arsenal would be wise. The places I've hunted this year (with very little results, unfortunately) are areas that have produced well in the past but are pretty darn clean by anyone's standards, so I opted to go for depth as opposed to darting in and out of trash.

So, one last question...are you hunting Iron Mask in all metal or are you using a little discrimination? I've managed to teach myself (thanks to NHBob , Tinfoil, and Mike from VA beach) to hunt in all metal and mentally train my hearing to just listen for the higher pitched sounds when I do hit an area with lots of iron or nails. Old fairgrounds are a good example...lots of nails and pieces of rusty wire down there from the construction of what I believe were either temporary buildings, booths or stock pens used at the fairs. What still gnaws at me though, is wondering at what depths I might expect to start finding Barber and Seated. I always envision them at 8 + inches and then start doubting the smaller coil's ability to punch down that far. We don't have really mineralized soil here in SE Minnesota, so maybe those old silver coins are in fact hiding at shallower depths after all. You just never know the "see-through" capability of your machine until you have recovered a few keepers under those conditions...

Again, congrats on the finds..

you probably can't warrant getting the 6" as well.
As for my hunting...I hunt in conductive with my Iron mask around 22 and have been doing pretty well. Honestly about 75% of my finds have been right in the trash from 6" to as deep as 8". I remember last year Bob...Mike...and Tin gave me some great tips and advice too when I hunted in ferrous...but I switched back to conductive many months ago and have been very happy. You would be amazed at some the Barbers and indians I have pulled from 4" to 8" with the little coil right in...and I mean right in trash. I think it's just a matter of what our ears adapt to more naturally because the successful ferrous hunters do very well too. It's just personal preference and learning the machine. I know Bob, Mike and Tin find a ton of goodies and know the machine well.

the last few I've found have been good.Funny thing is that from this site...some are nice...and some are nasty so I can't figure it out.

Blach Hole, n. 1. A collapsed super nova star with gravity so strong not even light can escape. 2. A man and machine so over-powering that a deep coin can not even be by-passed
WTG Bryce, you're awsome with that machine. Time to switch back to your monster 10x14" behemoth monster coil in the trashy areas :surrender: BTW. The tip you told me about how to run that little coil has really helped. I used your sensitivity settings and I think it made all the difference in my finds this weekend compared to my stubborn reluctance to switch from manual settings. Nice finds Bryce!

Even Rick(ND) tried some of my Set-Up and was surprised with how much better some of his Signals became. My finds every Weekend is proof that I know a thing or 2 about the Explorer XS and love to help others out if needed. What can I say! I Love This Hobby!!! Thanks for the kind words Bryce and Good Luck and HH on your next outing.:super:

I love to pass some stuff along that I've used and incorporated into my own settings. Besides...you make a great ham and egg sandwich:clapping:

Some great finds Bryce. Congratulations. Dirt Doctor beat me to it, about The Hartford......... I found one of the rings a couple of weeks ago.
