My BEST CTX Day Yet!

I went back to the house where I found the 1902 Barber last weekend. There was an area I found a couple of wheaties in the last time. After hunting around the Barber spot, and not finding anything, I worked my way over to where the wheaties had been. I hunted it 90 degrees to the way I hunted last time, going low and slow. I was greatly rewarded by doing so. The Roosevelt dime was literally a foot and a half from one of the plugs I had dug. The ring was a heart pounder until I saw it read "Avon" on the inside of the band!

Awe man! Great hunt! Bummer on the ring .

Yeah, but the silver finds are awesome.

You swung an Etrac before the CTX, right? Many claim that the ergonomics are better. I disagree. The curved hand grip of the CTX causes an overlap of finger when you have large hands. Since I've swinging this, the underside of my forearm just below the wrist is very sore. Do you experience any of this? I think the 17" would be a killer on me.

Use a relaxed grip let the weight fall on the arm strap , much more comfortable WTG on the dimes duke. sube

Makes no difference a ring is a ring is a ring. It sure is pretty.

I have a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder and I detected for about 3 hours today with my CTX. I have been afraid to use it much lately, so I have been using my AT Pro because of the weight difference. I have to say I don't feel as sore as I thought I would. I was actually setting the coil on the grass and just pulling the CTX from right to left with the coil on the ground so to speak. I was hunting a park that has been hit by everyone within a 150 miles of the place. Going low and slow. I must a dug 50 penny's, but sure had fun. Beautiful day, hunting with a friend and finding a lot of targets for a hunted out old park. We found a pocket spill with 33 penny's. That was fun.

Remember if you have a CTX nothing is ever hunted out. Matter of fact with any detector, they never get it all.

I have average sized hands so it really hasn't effected me negatively at all. Great balance for me.

Thanks Sube. I may have to put the arm strap on and try it.

great hunt Duke

Thanks. Trying to get permission for tomorrow at an old brick farmhouse.
