"What I don't like is the weight! Mine is in the Classifieds here right now for that reason alone! Mark CZ what model Fisher do you think you would have to buy now to get the C$ depth? And what would it weigh? Thanks for the replies guys,,,,,,GL & HH ..........Pat"
Mark he's got it up for sale on the classifieds due to the weight of it and he had asked what Fisher detector would get as good of depth thats why I reccommended the CZ also its hip mountable which cuts down on the weight which the coinstrike is hip mountable to!
WoW!
That's a bit sad.
The C$ is a bit heavy, but as compared to MANY other current brands and models, its not that bad.
Like you said its hip mountable,
a home made slingy-thingy can reduce the fill of the weight to near zero on the arm, my brother Ron forum member WV62 has worked out a pretty good and very simple version of it.
The C$ most times in the open market doesn't bring very much money these, that's one reason they have become "A Best Buy" in the used or even new market.
I recently landed a Brand New one with warranty for $325.00
The most temping offer I've seen lately to move a nice C$ was a guy that had a Omega 8000 that was wanting to trade it for a two coil package C$. Me having two C$'s I was a little tempted to go for that deal, I've had a bit of interest in an Omega but with the mixed reviews I've seen I wasn't willing to go for that deal.
For what it would be worth my suggestion would be if the real problem is weight would be to send my brother a PM work out some email details with and have Ron send him some pics of this almost nothing to make slingy-thingy.
It consist of simple to finds items like,
shoulder strap of off a sport bag of gym bag (don't have one, I bet Goodwill does)
A bungee cord,
Two or three nylon ties.
Going the extra distance he did to get his C$ working right is good, but I don't know that it increased the price over other mint condition good working ones. Now the fact that it just came back from Fisher with a clean bill of health will help some by putting a person at ease about it not having any serious issues.
I've watched a lot of the C$'s move through the for sale adds here and on ebay and TD over the last year plus and the price range is from $250.00 to around $350.00
I wish him the best with his sale, be maybe use it for awhile and count the time as part of recouping some of the repair cost.
During that time, poor over the wanted adds on the forums and watch for some body that has some High Dollar, High End detector that has hook up buddies with that has a C$ and has gotten skunked a few times and wants to do as good as his buddy and has put out a plea for a CS. He could the most money that way, or the best trade.
