Man you really were dipping in the copper pot this year. Outstanding display Dan and by the looks of it don't think you will have a problem getting 10 more, the season only just begun.:clapping:

here are some of my buttons 17th, 18th, and 19th century.

Man oh man...........I would love to find just one of them largies!!! Maybe one of these days.........or maybe a trip out East someday!!! WTG - Hawkeye Jim.

Now you're really starting to make me sick.................JUST KIDDING...........you're having a GREAT year.......keep it up!!! Hawk

Outstanding finds Dan - thanks for posting the photo's !

Out west here if we see one of them coppers we look around and wonder if we should put it back cause there so rare. 40 in one year I'm thinking about moving!

and I would be lying if I said I wasn't envious of those big coppers. But as with Ray-Mo, they just weren't around when this corner of the State was settled. Maybe one of these days I'll feel up to a little road trip and head back east a few hundred miles. Life just won't be complete until I find at least one! HH Randy

Dan,

Your copper totals are impressive. Look forward to some close-ups of some of your better ones.
I don't wish to detract from your achievements, but I would argue that a 2 center is not a "copper,"
if only that 2 cent pieces were being made while indian head pennies were being made.
If I may play the devil's advocate, how many coppers do you have minus your tally of 2 cent pieces?
Thanks,

dwayne

Dwayne, Your not detracting.....I wondererd also if they should be counted in my copper count. I ended up puting them in there because one, they are made of copper and two, their size. ( Mostly because of their size) Three, because I wanted to. I am counting half farthings and half cents. and other small copper coins. I draw the line at indians and flying eagles. I have found four two cent pieces this year. So, including the three coppers that I found this weekend (that I havn't posted yet) minus the four 2 Cents = 39

Dan,

Thanks for your reply. Look forward to your post of your three recent copper finds.
I think you may have the best online copper count for the year. huge congrats!
hope you can make 50 or more before the year ends.

Dwayne
