My first gold with the E-Trac

Hi everyone,

I went back to spend some more time working the grid at my favorite park. It wasn't producing too much today (as evidenced by the first photo) but I did make a couple of nice finds. The first was the VN Balboa medallion. It isn't worth much but I thought it was an interesting find. It was about 6" deep and bounced around between 10-43 and 12-46, but had a fairly clean tone. The next was my first gold ring with the E-Trac. It was only 4" deep and came in with a very solid tone at 12-06/07. I figured it was going to be a piece of can slaw or a folded up pull-tab. I was pleasantly surprised to see the edge of a gold ring when I examined the plug. The lettering stamped in the ring (other than the 14K) reads IGM, so if anyone knows what that stands for, chime in. Thanks for any info you can provide! Since the ring wasn't all that deep, I'll be checking the local lost-n-found ads to see if there are any leads to follow up on.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your next hunt!

Congrats on your first gold!! :super:

I too am starting to dig more solid sounding (in all direction) nickel tones....it's paid off a few times now for me in the turf.

Good luck on your next hunt!! Go for gold #2!!
