My first run in with kids....

wasn't that bad; however, they did sit on the swings I was trying to detect under. They asked the Q. I expected them to ask. Stayed with me for about half an hour and then went to play somewhere else. Didn't even bother my Dad. Just ran right past him like 5 times. I guess they like talking to the more handsome one of the 2 of us.

My finds:$2.20
toy car

Dad's:
$1.93
marble
silver colored watch (doubt its actually silver. No marks)

Still waiting to meet another detectorist out in the field. Good, bad thing? Not a lot of MDers out here in TN.

HH!

Meeting other detectorists is good and bad in my opinion. Anything found by somebody else is one less thing for me to find. Any damage done to property by another detector is likely to reflect poorly on me. On the other hand its nice to discuss detecting with other hobbyists.

It's funny to hear you call somebody kid. BTW if kids are polite and well behaved, I like having them in tow.

Pictures. You have to post them.

Eventually I'll get my camera fully installed. Summer break gives me plenty of time to do it.

You are fast becoming an expert hunter and a real positivie force on this board. Pass your knowledge on to those youngsters. Call them what you want. Kids is fine.

I look forward to those photos.

Your first run in with the house apes huh? I bump into the little rug rats often. Used to be worse when detectors were still unknown to many folks. When I started in about 1963 we would draw a crowd wherever we went. Wasn't anything ( especially at schools ) to have 15-20 curtain climbers swarming all over you.

Yea its funny some of the questions they ask:

That's a metal detector right? Are you looking for dinosaur bones? Are you poor and looking for money? Are you a garbage man? Are you looking for toys? ect, ect, ect....

Well Rick, my dad decided to pull a fast one and sell the stainless steel watch to my sister for $2. Now he's insisting that he won.

I don't live in Tn. But I do visit the Blount/Sevier County areas at least once or twice a year. Where do you live in Tn? It is a big (long) state.

The one that always gets me, " Why are you looking for money." It's strange to them beause all they have to do is ask mom or dad for some.
