My first wheatie!!!

Took the Xterra 705 out to a few local parks today. I wasn't getting much more than pennies with a dime thrown in every so often and was about to call it a day when I found my first wheatie!!! I was so excited!!! That was the inspiration I needed to keep going. I also found 10 quarters and a key (and a few more pennies).

Most wheaties dated 1945 were made of surplus brass from artillery shells. Just a tidbit of information.
 
Funny how a penny can make someone's day! "Regular" folk will never understand. My first neat coin was a wheat, a 1944, and I'll never forget the feeling! Many cool finds will be in your future. Just remember to have fun and you will be rewarded!!!
 
Congratulations! Thats a decent haul there...funny when a person gets into this sport, certain habits develop, you will find yourself looking at the edges of pocket change for silvers!:rofl:

Congrats on your first wheat! Concentrate on the deeper hits and I bet you'll dig more wheats and maybe your first silver! WTG! :thumbup:

I have found only one silver coin in that site you searched, but there could be a few more if you are willing to put in some time to search for them.
Keep at it.. you are doing great!!!
