MY FOR SALE AD POST WAS DELETED!!!!!

Can someone tell me precisely why it was deleted? Does my WTB Post count as a for sale post?

tabman

I think they do count a WTB listing as a for sale listing. I had one deleted too... I just waited for a couple weeks and tried again. Seems they are pretty strict about that 1 listing every three months thing. Kinda sucks for me, because I horse trade detectors and usually decide if I like one or not in a few days!

if it was posted in the detector accessories category, then i believe the rule states that you can list up to 6 items in a 3 month period

you decided not to pay attention to our posted statement about waiting 90 days between listings of different detectors for sale. I was the one that deleted your post.

It's your responsibility to follow our request. We delete all post on the classifieds without notice.

Here's the RULE:

Only Forum Members Registered for 90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale, & Want To Trade ads.

Also seller is in violation of forum rules , Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors on here, But they cannot exceed (1) one detector in a (3) three month period.

These rules apply to for sale adds & accessories adds.
(Now that is really ambiguous) Is it one of each every 90 days?

I don't have a problem following rules. I haven't had another detector for sale in the last 90 days. The only other post that I had in the Metal Detector Classified Forum or the Accessories Classified for the last 90 days was WTB. Period!

If you want to count WTB (want to buy) as selling a detector or accessory then you need to put that into the rules. It's not there.

Apparently you didn't put into the rules what you wanted.:drinking:

It would been nice of you to PM me and explain to me the rule as you want it to read before deleting my post. I would have said just detect the WTB., because I wasn't aware the WTB was considered selling something.

You posted a detector for sale on June 6 and you will be eligible to post another one after September 6, 2012. I don't understand how you can deny posting on June 6, it is right there for everyone to see.

Not to stir the pot but I have also wondered for some time if a Want To Buy add counts like a For Sale or For Trade. I don't make (or try to break) the rules but in my opinion a WTB add shouldn't have anything to do with the 90 days rules. I would think that a person should be able to place as many WTB adds as they want because not only does it give the average Joe a chance to make a deal but also give the dealers/sponsors of the forum a potential sale. Like I say I am not trying to stir things but would like to know about the WTB rules and the reasoning. Thanks! Steve.

I did a search and it didn't show up. Which one was it? I know I did one awhile back.

Never mind, I found it. It didn't show up in the search engine.

I posted that around 3 months ago and forgot about it after it hit the second page with no response. I listed the detector and sold it on ebay.

So are WTB ads not counted?

I have not been counting WTB ads on the classifieds............... BUT.......I am not Admin.

Give us a break here. Your comparing apples to oranges. Not advertising your detector has nothing to do with, "I would like to purchase".

As far as sending you a note explaining, that's not happening. We feel if you couldn't take responsibility of reading what we requested in bold print, we don't feel any obligation to notify. The statement of the rules on the classified forum have been posted there for a few years.

One more time: "It's the posters responsibility to read, follow, and keep track of when he last posted a for sale item." If you can't follow these simple rules, don't post it.

Thanks for being honest in your post and PM that you didn't really know if the WTB was counted or not in the rules.

I used the search engine to check for posts for 'tabman' in the classified ads and all it turned up was a single WTB. I checked again and I saw that I didn't change the time from 30 days to 90 days. Well that changes things.:)

Does putting an ad in the classified accessories forum count against your total of one detector sale's ad every 90 days. It's not spelled out in the rules.

In other words, if you put an ad in the classified accessories forum, do you have wait 90 days before you can put a detector for sale in the classified detector sales forum? Is there a limit on the total ads that you can do for accessories?

Larry thanks for being so helpful.
tabman

No, they are two separate forums Tab, each with their own rules IE: you can advertise one detector for sale on the Metal Detector classifieds forum AND up to 6 accessories on the accessory forum in a 90 day period.

As far as I know there is not a limit on WTB ads at this time until it gets abused and then, of course, some enforcement will have to be established. Someone wanting to buy some equipment to use will not be a problem but when someone continuously buys for personal gain, I would say yes, it's time for Admin to step in.

We would like our members to use and enjoy the free use of the classifieds but we must also have rules because of those who abuse the free service. I hope you and others understand.
