:detecting:I made this program using Microsoft excel. And yes this is me in the video. I made it so you just enter the amount of coins / rings it the corresponding spot, and it will keep a running tally for you, please see the video and see for yourself. If you want me to send it to you, Send me a PM with your email address. and let me know if you want a 30 hunt, 60 hunt, 90 hunt, or a 120 hunt log book. You need to have Microsoft excel though. I am giving this away for free because I think people will really like it.

Hunting Log

I just added a section for platinum jewelry and gold coins. keep the feedback coming, thanks for your interest...

I am getting emails left and right, a lot of them on what to add more sections. So I added the following suggestions to the hunt log: A comments / areas hunted section, which detector used section, relics section, relics estimated values section, rings estimated values section, a grand total for coin value/ ring value/ relic values (all 3 combined) section, and a major finds list. Thanks for the feedback.
I will be sending you this updated log, use whatever one you want, and thanks again for you interest...

Hey there, tresurefiend!!!! Good goin'. I'm so impressed with what you did. My first thought was: What a great idea, since most of us now have a computer, and a lot of us already have a spreadsheet program of "some kind", let alone Microsoft Word, and so forth., but my second thought was HOW DID YOU GET YOUR VIDEO ON THIS WEB SITE????? but I noticed that it said You tube on it, so you must have imported it some how, from setting it up on you tube. Still, this is exciting!!!! I put together a spreadsheet with the different numbers of quatro for different items I found, but you took it a step further, and put together this sheet with calculations and the "whole enchelada". What a handy, dandy way to log in your finds, and keep track of them. Good goin', and I'll need to get my detector out of the pawn shop and then maybe try this thing, somehow. Thanks for putting this thing together!! Marc Trainor.

What an excellent idea! I think hubby also would be very interested in it.:)

Thanks treasurefiend for the log. I checked it out and really like it can't wait to get back to the states so I can start metal detecting again. I definitely will use this log. My only question is why the limit on the hunts were you thinking monthly logs bi monthly or quarterly. I most likely will use it as a monthly log and start it over each month. Thanks again and HH Ted

Hi, treasurefiend, I have been using a small journal, I am from MI, If its not to late I would like the 120 version,do you have a spot for personal notes, its neat looking back to see the temp, or anything.
One thing if they start really taking off, see if MD stores will sell them for you.

I'm running a Mac Pro quad. It just decided to not boot. When I manually shut it down with the power button and try to reboot it freezes up at the end of the boot when the icons appear on the desktop. Can move the cursor with the mouse just before. Have zapped the PRAM. Any ideas?

Many detectorists keep logs especially if you move around a lot as it helps setting disc. and your digging preferences along with memories..I am old school and use a tablet....

Treasure Fiend, have been looking for what you have created, Tryed Idetect, yours looks better,
how can I obtain it?

Safeside, it's such a old post that the embedded video is not working, but I did find it doing a google search on " My Free Metal Detecting Computer Log" . It brought me to a competitors forum... but it's there and viewable...second return on the search . GL HH

Just observing many of the member posts above and too bad that they have been inactive for years.....
