Here are 24 gold rings I have found. Most with other detectors, and only #14 in the picture was found with the Deus so far since I purchased it used in April this year.
The data was collected by placing them on top of the ground and sweeping about an inch above using Deus Basic 1 program-manual ground balance.
Hope I can better understand now what I am walking over out there. The stepped on ring #24 is most interesting because of the close grouping of TID's across the different frequencies. Maybe that could be applied to other jewelry items that are not round but flat in design.
I find that most rings are either on top of the ground or very near the top and if not are not deep because they get caught up in the root system of the grass.
Of course sandy beaches are entirely different and most objects of any weight can & will sink rather fast.
