My good deed.

My neighbor owns a restaurant on a lake that I've been wanting to hunt for a while now, so I asked if it was OK to hunt it and he said anytime. I was hunting the property and he came over to see what I had found. At that point I had a half dozen wheats and a couple dollars in clad. He asked me if I could look for a ring is friend lost through the cracks of the restaurant deck. I told him no problem and after looking at the space I told him I would like to come back with a smaller coil at a different time. Well I got rained out of hunting today so I headed back to his place and crawled under the deck it had about 2.5 feet of clearance. I shortened my detector and used my X8 coil set it to auto sensitivity0 and off I went. I figured it was close to the surface so I did not need much depth. The ring had been lost about 2 years ago. Well after about a buck in change and 30-40 pieces of trash I got a solid 12-22 less than an inch and it would not budge off the 12-22. I brushed the dirt away and there it was. My friend could not believe I had found it, he said his friend will be so happy to have it back. It is an 18K mans wedding band, here is a photo.

Awesome job on recovering the ring! I can't imagine it was very comfortable to detect is such an enclosed area, but it looks like it paid off well. Those slatted decks are notorious for claiming lost coins and jewelery. Anytime I see an old wooden front porch being replaced, it's just about a guarantee I'm locking up the brakes and trying to get permission to detect it. :bouncy:

To bad you cant see the look on the guys face when he sees it.

Nice job! Thanks for the pictures.

WAY TO GO:clapping:

I'm just under five feet and I can just imagine how uncomfortable you were
Your description of techniques and settings and coil was very helpful for finding shallow targets
Knowing your name is Fire Fighter 43, it is likely good deeds are your nature
