My Oldest BIG Copper

I found my oldest BIG Copper in Central MIssouri. Prior to this find my oldest was a 1847 US Large Cent. Same county as I found the Large Cent. A county I haven't hunted much. Maybe 10 times in 45 years.

The BIG Copper is a 1837 Lower Canada Quebec Copper Penny. It would be neat to hear how it got to Central MO. I really am enjoying the CTX. I also found my 5th Silver coin spill since getting the CTX in 2018.

Nice find. It sure would be interesting to find out how it got there. The date looks like 1857. I may be wrong.

Sometimes finding an old copper is easier than ID'ing it...
Nice job on the identification/research

Sometimes my eyes make a mistake on id'ing my dates on coins I find. Some times i carry a magnifying glass to help these old eyes see dates. You did a great job of finding it, that's the hard job. Good luck in future locating nice targets like that.

Thanks! Eyes...I understand. I've been taking some eye medicine for 4 months and it doesn't seem to be helping.
